(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board received a report from Nutrition Director Natalie Ritter at Wednesday’s meeting.
Ritter shared some exciting news about their recent nutrition audit. She said a nutrition audit, led by the Iowa Department of Education, is a detailed review of the food service program. It examines meal pattern compliance, portion sizes, menu documentation and production records, free and reduced meal applications and processes, procurement procedures and financial accountability.
Ritter said this audit confirmed that the District is doing an excellent job feeding the kids.
During the financial report, Director of Finance Lisa Jones noted that they are working with the nutrition department to get word out to parents who have negative lunch accounts to get those balances paid off by June 30th.
Jones said they are at $27,000 negative on parent collections.
