Accomplishments
Maddie is a member of Grove HOT 4-H Club and CAM FFA. She has been active in poultry, photography, goat, sheep, beef, and foods project areas and has earned many ribbons and trophies at the Cass County Fair. She has also held the offices of Reporter and Treasurer in her 4-H Club. Maddie has been very active in sports starting with basketball in kindergarten. She has played AAU volleyball and club basketball. As an 8th grader she was a state softball participant. She picked up soccer as a freshman, and through her junior year, has earned three varsity letters. She was named to the Hawkeye Ten All-Conference Team as a junior, earning her the Trojan Head Award. That same year, she led conference games in saves in her first year at goalkeeper. Maddie has lettered twice in volleyball, and this past fall she was named to the Rolling Valley Conference 1st Team and the IGCA All-District Team. She was the KMA Rolling Valley Conference Senior of the Year, and was named to the KMA RVC Elite, All-Senior, and All-Defense Teams. She was also named to the All-News Telegraph 1st Team and participated in the KMA All-Star Game. Maddie is a three-time letter-winner in basketball and had an exceptional season this year at CAM. She made 67 3-point shots, putting her 16th in the state across all classes. She was named All-Rolling Valley Conference 1st Team Unanimous Selection, IGCA All-DIstrict, IBCA All-Region, and IPSWA All-State. She was also named to the KMA RVC Elite, All-Senior, and All-3 Point Teams. She played in four all-star games including the IGCA All-Star Game in Cedar Falls where she was on the 1A Select Team, the IBCA Pizza Ranch All-Star Game at DCG, the SWCC All-Star Game, and the KMA All-Star Game held at Iowa Western. Maddie is currently in her senior season of soccer and is running track for the first time. This summer she plans to be part of the new Griswold-CAM softball team.
What was your most memorable moment in High School?
Maddie’s most memorable moments in high school were having fun with her CAM friends and teammates, and scoring 37 points in the regional basketball win over Woodbine.
Plans After Graduation
Maddie has been accepted to Southwestern Community College in Creston where she has committed to play both volleyball and basketball, and she plans to begin her studies in Exercise Science and Dietetics.
