(Guthrie Center, IA) — AC/GC hosted the Merritt Invite on Monday night for a last chance to warm up before Thursday’s State Qualifying meet. No team standings were kept, here is a team by team breakdown:
AC/GC: With a limited line up, the Chargers won the Sprint Medley (1:37.76) with Joe Crawford, Brexton Schneider, Tate Fever and Eli Madsen. They were 2nd behind Treynor in a fast 4×100 put set a season PR of 42.67 with Crawford, Schneider, Luke Brincks and Madsen. Mike Fuller won the Shot Put (51-02.50) and was 2nd in the Discus (144-07.50).
Audubon: Aiden Kjergaard won the 800 with a season PR of 2:06.45. Carson Wessel was 5th in the 400 (55.45).
CAM: Carson McKee was 3rd in the 400 Hurdles with a season PR of 57.03. Zachary Kauffman was 4th in the 1600 (5:17.45) and Collin Bower was 4th in the 110 Hurdles (16.02).
Paton Churdan: Trevon Keely had the biggest highlight of the day when he jumped 6-08 for a new PR in the High Jump. Only three people have jumped higher this year in the state of Iowa — Tyson Seeser, Camanche 7-01; Ryan Little, Albia 6-10; and Eli Patterson of Benton at 6-09.
Treynor: Won the 4×100 with a new season PR of 42.67 with Jett Sornson, Cauy Konz, Drew Meyers and Brady Wallace. The Cardinals also won the 4×200 relay (1:31.86) with Sornson, Riley Lauver, Keatyn Dirks, and Meyers. The Shuttle Hurdle Relay won with a fast time of 58.13 which was just .01 seconds off of their PR (Konz, Brock Casey, Luke Christensen, and Wallace).
Underwood: Riley Sealock won the 400 (51.97); Sam Hulsing was first in the 110 Hurdles (15.02); Lucas Bose was 2nd in the 110 Hurdles (15.39); Tayden Hull was 2nd in the 400 Hurdles (56.86). The Eagles were 2nd in the 4×400 relay but got a season PR of 3:31.20 with Will True, Jack Limpp, Johnathan Harold, and Sealock.
