(NAFB) The stresses of farming can easily take a toll on you or your family members. In this week’s commentary, American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall tells us mental health starts with just one step…
“May marks Mental Health Month, and, unfortunately, there is still a stigma around mental health in our rural communities. Taking steps towards mental wellness can feel overwhelming – leaving us unsure of where to start.
That’s why this year, the Farm Bureau is focusing on the theme: just one step. Whether it’s going on a walk, calling a friend or simply taking time to reflect, the first step matters because it can start a journey toward getting better.
It’s okay to not be okay, and we don’t have to fix everything all at once. So, let’s all start with just one step this Mental Health Month – and keep it going all year long. “
