(Greenfield, IA) — Mount Ayr edged Lenox by one and a half points to win the Boys title in the Pride of Iowa Track and Field meet on Monday night. Central Decatur dominated the girls side. Gabe Winkelmann and Trent Warner of Nodaway Valley were double conference winners — Winkelmann won the 1600 (4:47.85, season PR) and the 3200 (10:58.80) and Warner won the throws with two season PRs (54-11 in the Shot Put and 170-11 in Discus which is a PR by 19 feet).
Also for Nodaway Valley boys, they were 2nd in the Sprint Medley relay but got a season PR of 1:43.26 with Cassius Burnside, Erik Jensen, Titan Foster, and Eli Harris. Luke Kading finished 3rd in the 3200, Haden Colton 5th in the 400 and Harris was 6th in the 400 Hurdles.
For the NV girls, Izzy Eisbach was 2nd in the 800 with a season PR of 2:30.61 and 2nd in the 1500 also with a season PR of 5:14.08. Maddie Weston finished 4th in the 100 and 4th in the 200.
The Southwest Valley boys got three conference champions — Gavin Wetzel in the High Jump at 6-00 and the Distance Medley relay team of Wyatt Shires, Walker Bissell, Wyatt Mendenhall, and Ian Forsythe at 3:51.40. Brody Crozier won the Long Jump at 21-00 and was 4th in the 100 and 5th in the 200. Mendenhall was 2nd in the 400 Hurdles. Bissell was 3rd in the High Jump.
For the Wolverine girls, Mackenzie Richards was 2nd in the shot put.
Gabe Funk of Lenox was big highlight in the conference meet, winning four individual titles in the 110 Hurdles, 200, 400, and 400 Hurdles.
