(Hamburg) A pedestrian was killed early Saturday morning after being hit by a semi-truck in Fremont County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident occurred on northbound Interstate 29 near the one-mile marker. Authorities report that 46-year-old David Lindsey McLean of Kansas City, Missouri, entered the roadway for reasons that remain unclear. He was struck by a 2024 Cascadia Freightliner driven by 63-year-old Ken Hermann of Norfolk, Nebraska.
McLean was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office by Nishna Valley Funeral Home.
The incident is still under investigation.
