(Stuart) A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the sexual abuse of a minor in Stuart, Iowa.
According to the Stuart Police Department, Wilson Erwin Elverildo Choc Cuc was taken into custody on May 1, 2025, following an investigation into an incident involving an 11-year-old victim. The reported offense occurred in late April in the 600 block of SW 7th Street.
Authorities say Choc Cuc, a Guatemalan national believed to be residing in the United States illegally, admitted to the offense during an interview with investigators. He has been charged with Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree, a Class B felony, and Providing False Identifying Information to Law Enforcement, a simple misdemeanor.
Choc Cuc is currently being held in the Adair County Jail.
The case remains under investigation, and officials have stated that no additional information will be made public at this time.
