(Pleasantville) On the charming square of Pleasantville, Halftime Bar & Grill has earned top honors as the home of Iowa’s Best Burger for 2025, as announced by the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association.
Halftime Bar & Grill is owned and operated by the DeHeer family—Kevin, Kathy, Amanda, and Tyler. With nine creative burgers on the menu, their offerings range from the classic Bacon Cheeseburger to the standout Humpback Burger—an 8-ounce grilled patty topped with ham, pepper jack cheese, bacon, sautéed onions, and smoky house sauce.
Unlike the recent trend of smash burgers, Halftime brings the spotlight back to thick, juicy grilled patties made from fresh, locally sourced beef. Each burger is crafted with care, which has paid off—sales have more than doubled since the restaurant made the contest’s Top 10.
