(Adair Co) An Illinois man was arrested on drug and weapons charges in Adair County.
An Iowa State Patrol Trooper stopped 45-year-old Shaun Michael Cleary, of Yorkville, on I-80 eastbound near the 76 mile marker for a window tint violation. During the stop, a Trooper was met with a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Cleary had admitted to possessing marijuana for personal use. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, a large quantity of marijuana and marijuana extracts were located throughout the vehicle. A handgun was also located in the trunk. Cleary was transported to the Adair County Jail and charged with Possession of a Firearm as a felon and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana). Bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety.
In other activity, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Melissa Marie Vazquez, of Council Bluffs, on April 20th on a warrant for Contempt – Violation of a No Contact/Protective Order. Vazquez was released on her own recognizance on the Adair County warrant and was later picked up by Polk County for their warrant.
The Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Sherrece Patricia Kilgore, of Bridgewater, on April 21st on a warrant for Violation of Probation. Kilgore was held on no bond until seen in District Court.
