(Ames) The Iowa State Cyclones have secured a No. 3 seed in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament and will face Lipscomb in the first round.
The Cyclones are headed to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a first-round matchup on Friday, March 21, at 12:30 PM. If they advance, they will take on the winner of the No. 6 seed Ole Miss and the No. 11 seed play-in matchup between San Diego State and North Carolina.
Head coach T.J. Otzelberger announced that Keshon Gilbert will miss the remainder of the season due to a groin injury.
Iowa State is competing in the South Regional. If they win their first two games and reach the Sweet 16, they will play in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Cyclones enter the tournament with a 24-9 overall record, coming off a 96-92 loss to BYU in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals.
This marks Iowa State’s fourth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance under Otzelberger.
