(Guthrie Center, IA) — The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors had a busy agenda on Tuesday and addressed several issues. The Supervisors continue to pursue an agenda against the Summit Carbon Solutions Pipeline and although they didn’t mention the pipeline directly, the Supervisors approved a date for the first reading of an ordinance establishing permit requirements for the surveying of certain parcels of land in the county. That date is April 8th. Supervisors Chair Maggie Armstrong talks also about how the ordinance will be publicized
In addition, the County Director of Health Jotham Arber says that they have brought on two new county employees to help residents with mental health issues
Overall health has improved in the county, going from ranking among the worst in the state to now ranked 14th out of the 99 Iowa counties in overall health andArber says his goal is to make Guthrie County number one.
The Supervisors also approved the use of county roads for the upcoming Bonnie and Clyde Run on April 26 from Midwest Partnership.
