(Corning/Villisca) The Corning and Villisca School Boards held a joint meeting Wednesday evening and approved a Superintendent search firm.
Southwest Valley Schools Superintendent Chris Fenster submitted his resignation to the Southwest Valley School Board last week. He has accepted the position of Superintendent at South Hardin School where his contract will commence on July 1st.
The Corning and Villisca School Boards agreed to hire EDWise, LLC as their Superintendent search firm. The boards will meet again in the near future to discuss the qualifications they are looking for in a Superintendent. The boards hope to conduct final interviews in March.
In other news, the school board discussed the 2025-2026 School Calendar. Chris Fenster said two calendars were presented, one that started earlier than August 25th and another calendar that starts on August 25th.
The final item on Wednesday’s agenda was an exempt session for negotiations.
