(Des Moines) Iowa is seeing a sharp increase in students using Education Savings Accounts. The Department of Education says more than 27-thousand-800 students are using the taxpayer-funded accounts for the current school year. It’s about 60 percent higher than the amount from the 2023-2024 school year. This year’s number was determined from the certified enrollment count from October and helps how much funding goes toward public schools next year. That’s when income restrictions will end, allowing all families to apply for ESA.
