(Corning, IA) — Its one of the biggest wrestling tournaments of the regular season — the John J. Harris Wrestling Tournament hosted by Southwest Valley — first round starts tonight with the championships tomorrow night, coverage on KSOM and KS 95.
27 total teams will join the Timberwolves in the tournament this year: AC/GC, Atlantic, Bedford, CAM, Centerville, Central Decatur, Clarinda, Clarke, Creston, Denison Schleswig, Fremont Mills, Griswold, Lenox, Missouri Valley, Mount Ayr, MVAOCOU, Nodaway Valley, Panorama, Red Oak, Riverside, Shenandoah, Southwest Iowa, Tri Center, Washington, Wayne, Winterset.
AC/GC has been shorthanded as of late because of some injuries and sickness. Jackson Pfrang had a small fracture in his collarbone a couple of weeks ago and is expected back soon. Drew Anderson is a transfer from Council Bluffs that is 26-3 at 132 pounds, AC Roller is 23-6 at 175. Conover talks about other kids in his line up
Conover says the goal at this tournament is the same as any other, finish at the top
Southwest Valley is the host school and Head Coach Cody Konecne says there is no one dominant team that can run away with the title
