(Des Moines) Light snow is expected across much of the state of Iowa Thursday.
The National Weather Service in Des Moines says the snow will start prior to sunrise in western Iowa and overspread much of central Iowa during the morning. The snow will persist through midday with the precipitation ending from west to east during the afternoon.

Snow amounts are likely to range from 1 to 3 inches, mainly along and south of the Highway 20 corridor. Continue to monitor the forecast heading into Thursday and plan to give yourself extra travel time.
