(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board gave their approval Wednesday evening to start a Robotics Club.
Superintendent Dr. Beth Johnsen said they have received three grants, totaling $14,000, to start the funding process and they have started to promote this STEM program.
The School Board approved the Robotics Club Sponsors (Stacey Schmidt and Andy Mitchell). And, they approved the request to use team sponsorships for the Robotics Club. It was noted that the Robotics Club will be funded by grants for the first year, but the grants do not cover the cost of lodging, food, and transportation to competitions. The use of sponsorships from community businesses and patrons is a way to help fund the team in the future.
