(Adair Co) The Adair County Board of Supervisors has approved the hiring of a part-time worker for the Veterans Affairs Office.
Veterans Affairs Administrator Gwen Johnston emphasized the growing needs of local veterans, noting that more individuals are seeking assistance and she would like to see the office open more often. Johnston said the new part-time employee would work 12 hours per week.
The Supervisors gave their approval to advertise for the position.
In other news, the Supervisors received reports from Environmental Health Director Jotham Arber and Engineer Nick Kauffman. County Auditor Mandy Berg discussed ARPA Funding and obligations and a FY25 Budget amendment. A public hearing on the budget amendment was set for January 2nd at 9:15 a.m.
