(Audubon, IA) — The Audubon Boys Wrestling season began last night, going 2-1 in a Quad at Logan Magnolia. Senior Jack Stanerson went 3-0 with 2 falls and a major decision to lead the Wheelers. Junior Lane Elmquist also went 3-0 with 2 falls and a forfeit. Audubon’s other senior Alex Hansen went 2-1 with 2 falls. Audubon Head Coach Tyler Christensen says he is going to rely heavily on these three kids to lead the team this year
Audubon had a young team last year with no seniors. Now they are more experienced and Christensen says the kids really worked hard in the off season in order to improve going by the saying summer wrestlers make winter champions
Christensen is excited about his numbers, he is excited about the possibilities of sending more Wheeler wrestlers to state – Audubon and Exira EHK are once again combined this year and Christensen has sent some goals for the team this year
Next up for Audubon is a big tournament hosted by Harlan tomorrow (Saturday).
