(Harlan) CDS Global, Inc. has announced that it will be closing its facility in Harlan in February 2025, which will result in the loss of 94 jobs, according to Iowa’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) site. Based in Des Moines, CDS Global is a Hearst Corporation subsidiary known for providing subscription and fulfillment services to magazines and other publications. The company has operated for over 45 years and has 13 locations worldwide, including several in Iowa, such as Des Moines, West Des Moines, Tipton, Red Oak, Wilton, and Boone. According to records from the Shelby County Assessor’s Office, CDS Global owns a 54,327-square-foot office building situated on approximately 8.3 acres of land on the southwest side of Harlan.
