9:00 am Class 2A: West Lyon 42, Spirit Lake 7
The Wildcats hold the Indians to just 8 net yards rushing in the game and forced five turnovers. For West Lyon, Tate Hawf had 17 carries for 114 yards and 2 TD. Bryson Childress had a 41 yard TD run. Only score for Spirit Lake was a 63 yard TD pass from Caden Lundt to Dylan Stecker. For West Lyon, it is their 6th career state title in school history.
1:00 pm Class 3A: Dubuque Wahlert 49, Humboldt 14
The Golden Eagles dominated from beginning to end. Michael Bormann had 21 carries for 124 yards and 1 TD. Tom Scherr had 5 receptions for 124 yards and 1 TD. After Wahlert scored on their opening possession, Cash McIntire had an 80 yard TD run for Humboldt to tie the game at 7-7. Wahlert would score 4 TD’s in a row to end the first half with a 35-7 lead.
