(Harlan, IA) — There are still question marks for the Harlan football team entering the 2024 season.
Head Coach Todd Bladt lost a lot of seniors off of last year’s 6-4 squad. Junior Gabe Arkfeld is expected to start at quarterback this week against Lewis Central while running back is still a battle between Senior Lukas Francis and Junior Ayden Redmon. Sophomore Jozef Reisz is back at tight end — he caught 33 passes for 437 yards a year ago which was second on the Cyclones. Bladt says they will build off of Reixz’s ability but expects to rotate players at wideout
Harlan will be more experienced on the offensive line where they line up right to left Senior Jacob Brouse (6’3″, 245), Senior Ben Leinen (6’2″ 215), Junior Owen Neve (6’3″ 245), Senior Hayden Soma (6′ 225) and Senior Brett Heese (6’3″ 210) will move from fullback to left tackle
On the defensive side, there is still spots wide open with a couple of guys sure things
