(Atlantic, IA) — Every high school football team must have bruising, old school fullback who can eat up the tough yards and Atlantic is no different — Junior Gavin McLaren has more rushing yards than any player returning.
McLaren was second on the team in rushing last year with 490 yards and averaged 6.5 yards a carry. Teams are going to look at the stat sheet and start focusing more on this 6’2″ 240 pound back but McLaren says he is ready
Atlantic loses its leading rusher Dante Headrington who is at Fresno City JC but McLaren believes the running back position might be deeper this year
McLaren is excited to get the season started early and knows there are some tough teams on the schedule and it starts with Council Bluffs Jefferson this Friday
