(Suan Juan, P.R.) – Former Iowa State Cyclone, George Conditt IV, helped Puerto Rico’s National Team qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This marks the second Cyclone to participate in the Paris Olympics alongside former teammate Tyrese Haliburton who is on the USA men’s national team.
This marks the first time since 2004 that Puerto Rico will advance to the Olympics after going 4-0 in the qualifier. In four games, Conditt IV averaged 10.8 points and shot 61.3% from the field. He also ranked eighth in rebounds throughout the tournament with 5.5 rebounds per game and scored 43 points over the course of the tournament, the eighth-most in the qualifier. Puerto Rico will take on South Sudan on July 28th, Serbia on July 31st, and the United States on August 3rd for the first round of Olympic play.
The 5×5 Olympic games will take place in Lille, France before the tournament moves to Paris for the medal rounds.
