(Maryville, MO) – Northwest Missouri State’s Ryan Williams has been named to Academic All-America honors. Williams is officially the first Bearcat to be named to the honor in the baseball team’s history.
Williams earned a 4.0 GPA in the classroom while majoring in public accounting and is the 54th Bearcat to earn the Academic All-America honor. The Kansas City native was also named to D2CCA Third-Team All-America honors as a utility player this year while leading the team in batting average (.391), slugging percentage (.690), hits (72), runs (50), doubles (18), and total bases (127). Williams set the single-season Bearcat walks record with a total of 48 overall while passing the previous mark of 45.
Northwest Missouri State has produced a total of 54 Academic All-America honorees since 1981.
