(Clearfield, Iowa) A Taylor County man is charged in connection with a shooting in Clearfield.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office received numerous calls of a shooting at 3:19 a.m. on Thursday, (July 4) on Broadway Street in Clearfield. When deputies arrived, they found 19-year-old Colby Nelson of Lenox dead from a gunshot wound. The Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny will perform a forensic autopsy.
Taylor County Deputies took 37-year-old Alan Schultz of Bedford into custody without incident on a charge of first-degree murder.
The DCI is investigating the incident. No additional information will be released at this time.
