(Ames, IA) – Christian Carroll announced that he will be transferring from Oklahoma State to Iowa State for the upcoming wrestling season.
The Indiana native’s decision coincides with changes at Oklahoma State, including the hiring of David Taylor as head coach. Carroll competed in the U23 Nationals and planned a move to the 197-pound weight class before his unexpected transfer. Carroll had quite a redshirt season at Oklahoma State while clinching a spot in the Olympic Team Trials at 97 kg with a title at the Last Chance Qualifier following the season. He went all the way to the quarterfinals in the Olympic Trials which included a win over #8-seed Anthony Cassioppi.
Iowa State coach Kevin Dresser welcomed Carroll, noting his impressive wrestling credentials and predicting a positive impact on the team’s competitiveness as he prepares to join them this summer.
