(Council Bluffs, IA)- The 4th ranked Reivers baseball team kicked off the first round of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Region Finals with a 10-0 shutout win over Indian Hills on Thursday. While the scoring is impressive, the pitching from freshman Noah Scott is what takes the cake. The 11-1 right hander for the Reivers pitched a complete game against the Warriors allowing only five hits with his defense picking up 16 ground outs.
The offense for Iowa Western was firing on all cylinders as five players batted around triples and three others had doubles. An extended third inning would add three runs for the Reivers as they saw their entire lineup get a chance at the plate. Indian Hills would struggle on the mound as they handout 11 walks, two of which were intentional, that would eventually lead to four runs for Iowa Western. The game came to a close in the eighth with an RBI single from Reese Harmon scoring Evan Saunders from third for the 10-0 win.
Game 2 of the best of three series begins tonight at 6pm.
