(Ames, IA) – One of the top defensive players for Iowa State this past season, T.J. Tampa, has been drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Tampa is now the third Cyclone to be drafted by the Baltimore Ravens alongside Kelechi Osemele in 2012 and Charlie Kolar in 2022.
The Florida native played in 46 games for Iowa State while recording a total of 107 tackles with 9.5 tackles for loss with three interceptions and 19 pass breakups. He was named a First Team All-Big XII selection and was an AP Third-Team All-American this past season in 2023. Tampa was the first to earn All-America honors for the Cyclones since 2018.
Just in 2023 alone, Tampa had 44 tackles and two interceptions while allowing just one touchdown in 497 snaps played on the field.
Tampa will be joining a Ravens team that went 13-4 and finished first in the AFC North while they fell to the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs in the NFC title game.
