(Maryville, MO) – Northwest Missouri State women’s track sprinter, Tiffany Hughey, has been named the MIAA Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week. This comes after a school record-breaking performance at the University of Arkansas last week.
The Missouri native competed at the John McDonnell Invitational in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes. While competing in the 400-meter, Hughey was able to break the school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.74 seconds. That time now ranks third in Division II track and field and first in the conference. In the 200-meter dash, she was able to break her personal best time with a blitzing time of 23.66 seconds. While her 200-meter time didn’t break the school record, she now sits second of all-time in school history in the 200-meter.
With those two top times, Hughey has capped her provisional time for the John McDonnell Invite. This marks the third time that she has been named to the MIAA women’s track athlete of the week.
