(Lincoln, NE) – Former Nebraska Husker Annika Stewart announced that she is transferring to Minnesota for her final year of eligibility. She will join the Golden Gophers this summer for the summer season.
This was officially announced on Stewart’s Instagram that she would be making the transition from a Husker to a Golden Gopher. She played in 111 games throughout her four years with Nebraska while averaging 5.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. The Minnesota native also played in Nebraska’s final four games of the season while putting down 24 points and shot 4-5 from beyond the arc in the NCAA Tournament. Stewart was also named as Nebraska Women’s Basketball Lifter of the Year in 2022.
She said in a statement, “I am so excited for the opportunity to come home for my last season of college basketball,” Stewart said. “I chose to be a Gopher because of how much Coach P and the staff pour into this program. I can’t wait to compete with the team, grow as a player, and connect with the community. Go Gophers!”
Stewart will be playing for a Golden Gophers team that went 20-16 overall and 5-13 in Big Ten play.
