(Audubon, IA) – The Audubon boy’s golf team is getting ready to get into competitive action tomorrow as they’ve prepared all week by hitting the course. Head Coach Gary Burton knows that repetition is key to helping create a successful golf game.
The Wheelers feature two senior returnees Edward Miller and Evan Alt and a junior returnee Oliver Deist who have all been working hard in practice and have seen improvements in their golf game. Henry Burr and Ryan Hermansen return to the course this season as sophomores and Coach Burton has already seen a night and day difference in their golf game. Dual sport athletes Mason Steckler and Sully McClain have also started to compete at a high level in practices as well.
Golf is all about your mentality when out on the course. Not every shot that you take is going to be perfect down the fairway. Sometimes it’s going to go in the rough, bunker, or even take a swim. It’s about what you do next that matters the most.
Coach Burton is most excited this season about the guys just going out on the course and having fun.
Audubon will get their first taste of action tomorrow at home against AHSTW as the boys look to tee off on a beautiful Friday evening. Coach Burton wants his team to be relaxed and composed while doing the best that they can out on the course.
The Wheelers will take on AHSTW this Friday, April 5th at the Audubon Country Club at 4:00 p.m.
