(Ames, IA) -Iowa State’s women’s basketball players may have seen a ton of success this season, but it does not leave them out from players entering the transfer portal. Both Jalynn Bristol and Nyamer Diew have announced they are leaving Iowa State and have entered the transfer portal.
Jalynn Bristol earned two starts this season while averaging 5.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and .7 assists per game this season. The Cyclone freshman played in over half of the game against Stanford with 27 total minutes. She was a primary bench player for the Cyclones this season and will look elsewhere.
Nyamer Diew was a more dynamic player this season for the Cyclones. She was a surprise to the Cyclone faithful who thought that she would remain with Iowa State through her final year of eligibility. She averaged 5.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists for the Cyclones this season. She was a critical player in the Big XII Championship and even helped the Cyclones advance further in the NCAA Tournament.
Iowa State has now had three players enter the transfer portal, including Shantavia Dawkins who entered on Wednesday. Head Coach Bill Fennelly will now have to advance his process to replace the two forwards for next season.
