(Orient) It was a busy weekend for the Atlantic Archery Teams. The High School team shot at two Tournaments. The first was in Orient, and the second was at Murray. The Trojans were up to the challenge and performed well despite the rugged schedule. Atlantic High School and Middle School Teams captured the team titles at the Orient Bullseye Archery Tournament on Saturday, and the High Schoolers won the 3D Tourney at Murray and finished second in the Bullseye.
At Orient: Atlantic won the high school competition with a 3321, Bondurant-Farrar second, 3194, Orient-Macksburg third, 3112, and Valley High School fourth, 3013. For Atlantic, Grant Petty shot a school record-setting 297 in the Bullseye competition to lead all scorers. Hank Roberts finished third with a 288; Connor Johnson, ninth with a 278; and Kyler Edie, tenth with a 277.
In the girl’s high school division, Belle Berg finished runner-up with a 279, Madeline Blake fourth with a 277, Lily Johnson, fifth, 275, Miraylie Stuart, eighth, 273, Mariah Hadley, ninth, 272, and Shauna Anderson, tenth, 268.
The Atlantic Middle School team shot 3018 for the win, East Union, second, 2917, Nodaway Valley, third, 2899, and Bondurant-Farrar, fourth, 2672.
In the boy’s division, Wyatt Hoover of Atlantic won the individual title with 284, and Zane Welch was eighth with 259.
In the girl’s middle school division, Talia Hoover led the Trojans with a fourth-place finish, 256, Rylan Martin, fifth, 255, Paislee Klever, sixth, 254, and Gabrielle Engler, tenth, with a 245.
At Murray:
Then, the Atlantic High School team and a handful of Middle School participants loaded their bows and headed to the Murray Tournament. The Trojans returned with the top finish in 3D (1674) and second in the Bullseye competition with a 3299.
Grant Petty topped the boys’ division in 3D with 289, and Tyrell Williams finished fourth with 279. Mariah Hadley won the girl’s division with a 281, Lily Johnson, second, 278, Shauna Anderson, sixth, 268, and Madeline Blake, 267.

Ryan Hackwell finished fifth in the boy’s Middle School 3D with a 266,
Grant Petty finished second at the Murray Bullseye Tournament (289), Hank Roberts sixth with a 287, and Kyler Edie ninth with a 284. In the girls’ division, Madeline Blake finished second with a 280, and Shauna Anderson seventh with a 273.
Wyatt Hoover finished fifth place individually in the Middle School Bullseye Tourney with a 275.
