(Des Moines) November is going into the record books as one of the driest months ever in Iowa.
Tim Hall with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says an essentially rain-free November worsens conditions across an already dry state. He says the state is running out of time to lock in soil moisture before the ground freezes.
In terms of hydrologic conditions, the U.S. Geological Survey is reporting numerous creeks, and rivers with 14-day average flows below the 10th percentile in Iowa.
