(Atlantic) Atlantic School District Food Service Director Natalie Ritter reported to the School Board Wednesday evening that her office has been sending out letters for negative lunch balances.
Ritter said, as of Tuesday, they were negative $25,000.
Ritter said she tries to make payment plans that work for everybody.
Ritter said she cannot pay for those delinquent accounts with her funds, the only way she can is through donations.
Ritter said right now they sit at about 48 to 49-percent free and reduced, which is lower than the past, so anybody who has not filled out an application for free and reduced lunch is encouraged to do that online or call the office to get a copy.
