(Iowa City, IA) – Iowa moves back into the top-25 in the latest College Football Poll rankings. Iowa is currently sitting at #22 in the country which is the highest that the Hawkeyes have been ranked in the CFP rankings this season.
Speaking of rankings, the Iowa defense currently ranks fourth nationally, allowing just 13.7 points per game. The Hawkeyes have allowed just one touchdown over the last 12 quarters and three touchdowns in the past 20 quarters. Iowa allowed just one touchdown in their 10-7 win over Northwestern from last week, where they drove all the way down the field in less than two minutes left to kick the game-winning field goal to win at historic Wrigley Field.
To top off that ranking, the Hawkeyes rushing defense has allowed just one touchdown on the ground this season which ties for the national lead. The defense ranks 17th nationally in yards allowed per game with 298.7 yards per game right behind Nebraska.
The Hawkeyes return to action this Saturday against Rutgers with a kickoff at 2:30 p.m.
