(Guthrie Center) The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors approved a $1.00 per hour raise in the facilities department. The vote was not unanimous.
Facilities Manager Brandon Thompson initially requested a $1.50 raise.
In 2020, Guthrie County Citizens passed the $8.7 million bond issue to build a 14,000-square-foot addition. The facility officially opened last summer.
Steve Smith, Maggie Armstrong, and Brian Johnson voted yes, and Mike Dixon and JD. Kuster voted no.
The pay increase for Facilities Manager Brandon Thompson, Rob Tallman, Jason Godwin, and Ron Allen starts next week.
The new addition improves inmate capacity, addresses classification and segregation requirements, improves inmate transportation costs and rehabilitation, and provides a much safer environment for the staff and the public.
