(Griswold) The Griswold School Board acted on five items at the Monday School Board meeting.
The board voted to approve a request for allowable growth and supplemental aid for the 2022-2023 exceptional education deficit. School Superintendent Dave Henrichs says the deficit has increased this year to $420,000.
The board also approved the 2023-24 school advisory committee. Henrichs says the Iowa code requires all schools to form this committee, supported by the board.
Henrichs presented the board with an open enrollment rep rt. The district increased its open enrollment by five students, and six open rolled out of the district, yielding a negative one. Henrichs says they are going to continue to study long-term trends.
In other news, Griswold Athletic Director Troy Nicklaus is working with the sports boosters and individual donors to purchase new baseball and softball scoreboards. The cost is $50,000 for both boa ds. So far, thirty-five thousand dollars have been raised for the new scoreboards.
