(Area) The Youth Deer Hunting Season in Iowa kicks off Saturday, September 16th.
Bryan Hayes, with the DNR Office in Lewis, said this give the young hunters a chance to get out there and not have to compete for hunting spots with the adults.
Iowa residents who are younger than 16 can buy these youth tags. Each youth must be under direct supervision of an adult mentor, with a valid license. An unfilled youth season tag may be used during any subsequent deer season, while following all other rules specified for each season.
The Youth Dear Hunting Seasons runs through October 1st.
