(Atlantic) The excessive heat and humidity changed the Atlantic Cross Country Time Trial schedule. Usually, the team’s lineup is late afternoon, and it is a community event. Mother Nature had other ideas this year, forcing the runners to compete in Tuesday’s intrasquad meet in the early morning hours.
Despite the change, Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason was pleased with the results.
Bennett Whetstone and Alex Sonntag were the front runners for the boy’s team.
Last season’s state qualifiers Claire Pellett and Belle Berg finished one-two in the girl’s race.
The Trojans open the season at Glenwood on Saturday, August 26.
