(Adair Co) More information has been released on the arrest of Nodaway Valley Football Coach Ryan Kissell.
In the late morning of Wednesday, August 16th, the Creston Police Department made the Greenfield Police Department aware of a recently issued Union County arrest warrant for 42-year-old Ryan C. Kissell of Creston. Creston Police indicated that Kissell may be employed by the Nodaway Valley Community School District.
The Greenfield Police Department and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office located Kissell at the Nodaway Valley High School, located at 410 NW 2nd Street in Greenfield at approximately 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Kissell was taken into custody without incident. Kissell was then turned directly over into the custody of a Union County deputy sheriff.
It should be noted the Nodaway Valley School Administration cooperated fully with Adair County law enforcement throughout the entire arrest process.
The Greenfield Police Department and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office have no information concerning the investigation that led to these criminal charges, nor is there any reason to believe any criminal act(s) related to this case occurred in Adair County.
As we previously reported, Kissell faces 20-counts of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree, 25 counts of Lascivious Acts with a Child, and one count of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
It should be noted a criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
