(Des Moines) The beekeeping exhibit is popular amongst the fairgoers at the Iowa State Fair this year. There are currently about five-thousand beekeepers in Iowa. Bees are the only insect that makes food for humans to consume. This year’s American Honey Princess, Allison Hager, says bees are important as they make up one-third of the food we eat from pollinating.
