(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on Tuesday and approved a development agreement with Hamlin Feed Mill LLC and authorization of Tax Increment payments.
Audubon County Board of Supervisor Chairman Doug Sorensen says this is the final step, following a verbal agreement with the Hamlin Feed Mill in April 2022.
The feed mill is a $20 million project that will produce up to 400,000 tons of swine feed annually, using about 8.5 million bushels of corn and 48,000 tons of soybean meal per year. The mill is expected to create 22 jobs-eight full-time and 14 local truck drivers.
Sorensen says the construction project is about two-thirds complete and expected to be in operation at the end of the year.
