(Council Bluffs) United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa announced the sentencing of 54-year-old Edward Allen Davenport of Atlantic to 13 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute meth. When his prison sentence is complete, he will serve a four-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the Federal Court system.
In 2022, court documents say Davenport conducted several controlled drug sales containing pure methamphetamine to law enforcement. In August of the same year, law enforcement executed a search warrant at his residence and seized a scale, pipes, syringes, bags, and pure methamphetamine.
The Atlantic Police Department, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and the Division of Narcotic Enforcement Investigated the case.
