(Atlantic) The first day of school is right around the corner, and besides the normal school items such as writing utensils, paper, etc., some medical responsibilities need to be marked off the checklist.
Atlantic Community Schools Head Nurse Laura Freund says the meningococcal vaccine is a couple of vaccinations that often lag for seventh and 12th-grade students.
Third-grade students need a vision exam at some point during the year. Laura Freund says the best thing to do is have a medical provider review your immunization history to ensure up-to-date immunizations. Freund says for more information or forms, contact Laura at 243-5234.
