(Des Moines, IA) – A man is at a local hospital after jumping into the Des Moines River on Wednesday. The incident happened around 9:30 in the morning. Police say they were walking towards the man, who reportedly was suffering from a mental health issue when he jumped into the water to avoid police. He refused to leave the river, but officers convinced him ashore.
