(Des Moines) The latest U.S. Drought Monitor released on Thursday reflects last week’s widespread measurable rainfall in northwest, southwest, and west central Iowa.
State Climatologist Justin Glisan says the state needs several widespread rainfall events to dent the longer-term moisture deficits.
Glisan says much of the state stayed status quo, although northeast Iowa was left out of the widespread rainfall that swept through the state’s southwest, west-central, and northwest regions last week.
