(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning approved a resolution consenting to the issuance of a Solid Waste Facilities Revenue Capital Loan Note by the Cass County Environmental Control Agency Board.
Supervisor Steve Green explained they had a contractor bid to cap the landfill and that bid came in under the engineer’s estimate. Green said the loan is being borrowed through the state Revolving Loan Fund and the authorization is up to 1.5 million, but it should be considerably under that.
Green said every town also has to pass this resolution. A public hearing will be held on August 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at the Courthouse.
In other action, The Supervisors approved a letter to the tenants at 707 Polar Street, Cambridge Law Firm, regarding utility payments. Supervisor Mark O’Brien explained that the tenants have paid a rate of $420 since December of 2013 and for some reason that rate has not changed since then. O’Brien said the cost of utilities is attributed to the space that is occupied, which is 60-percent.
The amount of utilities owed is $17,324.
The Supervisors approved a recommendation the Treasurer change the checking account from Wells Fargo to a local bank that contributes to the community. This was only a recommendation and Treasurer Tracey Marshall will have the ultimate say. The Supervisors also approved an updated County Credit Card Policy.
