(Montgomery Co) A Red Oak woman was charged with Operating While Intoxicated following an accident in the 1900 block of 200th Street in Red Oak Friday evening.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says after investigation into the accident, Deputies believed the driver, 37-year-old Sara Sue Batten, was under the influence of alcohol. Batten was transported to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries from the accident. Deputies were able to conduct further testing at the hospital where they found Batten to be under the influence of alcohol and was four times over the legal limit.
Due to the nature of Batten’s injuries, she was summoned to appear in court for Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense. She was also issued a written warning for Failure to Maintain Control.
