(Atlantic) Caden Will of the Benton-Franklin 4-H Club took home top honors at the Cass County 4-H and FFA Swine Show on Sunday.
Will showed the overall supreme market hog and will advance to the “Best of the West Showdown” at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Denison on Wednesday, August 3. Colton Anderson of Washington G.E.M. showed the reserve overall supreme market hog. Will also took home top honors in the supreme Breeding Gilt competition, qualifying for the “Best of the West Showdown.”
Gracie Venteicher, of the C & M Champions, showed the Grand Champion 4-H Pen of Three. Dawsen Sorensen of the Bear Grove Blazers 4-H Club finished runner-up.
Lane Robinson of Washington G.E.M. grabbed top honors in the 4-H Market Gilt competition earning Grand Champion honors. Trista Swain of Pleasant Noble United was the reserve grand champion.
Caden Will of Benton-Franklin showed the Grand Champion Market Barrow, and Colton Anderson had the reserve.
Colton Anderson showed the 4-H Grand Champion Breeding Gilt, and Sophia Retallic finished runner-up.
Isaac Hansen had the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Carcass Hog. He also won the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion rate of gain.
Grant Petty of the Washington G.E.M. 4-H Club was named the Grand Champion Senior Showman, and Kaylee Swain was runner-up. Colton Anderson of Washington G.E.M. 4-H Club won the Intermediate Showmanship Division, and Quincy Robinson of the Washington G.E.M. 4-H Club finished runner-up. The Champion Junior Swine Showman was Brylee Steffen of Benton-Franklin, and Lane Robinson of Washington G.E.M. finished as the runner-up.
Caden Will exhibited the Supreme Grand Champion Breeding Gilt, and Colton Anderson was runner-up.
In the FFA Show:
Grant Petty of the Atlantic FFA showed the Grand Champion Market Barrow, and Brooklynne Peterson, Griswold FFA, finished runner-up. Brookelyn Steffen of the CAM FFA earned Grand Champion honors with her Market Gilt, and Grant Petty was reserve. Steffen showed the overall Grand Champion Market Hog, and Petty had the reserve grand champion market hog.
Brookelynn Peterson exhibited the Grand Champion Pen of Three, and Petty showed the reserve pen.
Caden Will of CAM showed the Grand Champion FFA Breeding Gilt, and Maddy Anderson of the Atlantic FFA showed reserve.
The Grand Champion Carcass winner was Ada Hansen of the CAM FFA, and also earned runner-up honors. Hansen also won the top Rate-of-Gain Award.
The FFA Champion Showman is Grant Petty, and Maddy Anderson of the Atlantic FFA was runner-up.
